There are many opportunities to contribute to your Faculty.  If you are interested in serving as a Senior Officer or participating on one of the FFLM committees, representing the FFLM at external committees and working groups or reviewing e-learning modules, this is the page to find something to match your skills.

 

A Day In The Life

What does a typical ‘day in the life’ of look like for our members working in forensic and legal medicine? We want to hear from you!

We’re planning to post a series of member accounts on our website to give a flavour of what it’s like to work in this field.

We want to hear from all our members so this includes:

  • Healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses and paramedics) in custody;
  • Nurses and doctors working in sexual assault referral centres;
  • Medico-legal advisors;
  • Dento-legal advisors;
  • Medically qualified coroners;
  • Forensic pathologists;
  • Doctors and nurses working as advisors for the DVLA;
  • Clinicians working in Secure and Detained settings;
  • Medical examiners;
  • Forensic psychiatrists;
  • Forensic odontologists;
  • Medical Reviewers (Scotland);
  • Court-appointed, medically qualified members of a Tribunal.

CPD Reviewers

We’re looking for volunteers to assist with assessing applications for CPD approval for courses. CPD reviewers will be required to assess submissions against the FFLM Quality Standards.

Board & Committees

Training and Education (TED) Subcommittee Vacancies 

Applications are invited for additional members of our TED Subcommittee. We are looking for a:

  1. A Nurse Member currently practising in General Forensic Medicine and/or Sexual Offence Medicine; and
  2. A Paramedic Member currently practising in General Forensic Medicine.

Applicants must come from the current membership (Associate, Affiliate, Licentiate, Member, Fellow) of the FFLM and must be in good standing.

The aims of the TED subcommittee are:

  • To develop a training programme across the breadth of the membership;
  • To review and reflect on feedback from educational meetings.

The committee is chaired by the Vice-President of Forensic Medicine and reports to the Academic Committee. Representatives will serve a term of three years which may be extended by a further two years.

Kindly note that our advertising a post on our website and in the bulletin does not mean the FFLM endorses it. Moreover, we reserve the right to refuse to publish any jobs which are in breach of our recommendations.

Relevant publications which may be of interest to members may be highlighted on the Faculty website, in bulletins and other communications. This is not considered to be advertising for the purpose of this policy

Courses that are CPD accredited by FFLM, are added to the events page as per the request of the providing organisation.

We do not add external courses to our weekly bulletin.
